...before bringing their child to MM Ski School
Skiing is certainly one of the best winter sports. And the best thing of all is that you can start skiing at a very young age, and it is excellent for developing motor skills and coordination.
When you decide to enrol your child in ski school, there are a few things you should keep in mind.
First of all, psychological preparation…
Before enrolling in ski school, it is important to talk to your child and explain what skiing is (if they don't know), what ski school is, who the instructors are and why they matter, how they should behave and that it is important to follow the instructor's instructions. And of course, encourage them by telling them it will be fun as they conquer their first slopes.
…and then practical preparation!

- Weather in the mountains is often unpredictable. One moment we can be enjoying the sunshine, the next we may be facing a blizzard. That is why it is important to dress your child in warm, suitable clothing, a balaclava or under-helmet cap, gloves and goggles, and to pack an extra pair of gloves and some tissues.
- To make lessons as comfortable as possible for your child and help them relax completely, be sure to take them to the toilet before the lesson starts. Better safe than sorry :D.
- If you want your child to learn to ski, you surely love this winter sport yourself and can probably ski too. That's wonderful, because once your child learns to ski you'll be able to enjoy all the charms of the mountains together. To get there, your child should have full trust in their instructor and be with them alone during lessons and the lunch break. In practice, skiing is learned more easily and quickly when one authority is listened to and respected. Otherwise, if you try to give advice and teach them at the same time, your child will get confused and won't know whom to listen to or whose advice to follow. Our tip: support your child and celebrate their progress, but don't give them information that might confuse them!
- To make sure everything goes smoothly and your child has happy memories of ski school, please let the instructor know if your child has any special needs, allergies and so on.
- However brave children can be in some situations, it is perfectly normal for them to have certain fears – including fear of skiing, skis, the mountains, snow and many other things. That is why we are here to help your children overcome those fears, and you are there to support and encourage them.
It's best without pressure, because…

Skiing is a phenomenal sport – once you fall in love with it, you can't wait for the time of year when you can get back on your skis. But like any other love, this one doesn't happen overnight: it takes time for a child to get used to the sport and to come to love it.
That is why we try never to pressure any child and let everything take its natural course – and so should you.
We are also aware that six days is sometimes too short for someone to get used to skis, and that it is perfectly normal for some to need more time to master certain techniques.
Your children have years ahead of them, and if not this year, then in one of the years to come they will be tackling difficult, steep slopes. Don't let your child develop an aversion to such a wonderful sport just because of unnecessary pressure.
…every child is a world of their own
What sets our school apart is many years of experience and a love of skiing, and our motto will always be SAFETY, FUN and LEARNING.
Safety comes first for us: we take special care of every pupil at our ski school and give each child individual attention, because every child is different and learns in their own way.
There is, however, something we give every child equally: a fun way to learn new skills and techniques. It is important to keep in mind that progress in skiing is not the same for everyone, and it can't be. You shouldn't compare your child with other children or worry if they aren't progressing as fast as you would like.
If your child has been at the same level for two years in a row, it simply means they will move through the next level faster. Be happy that your child is enjoying winter days in the snow and the mountains, because sometimes that is quite enough.
