Kopaonik is considered one of Serbia's most precious gems. Also known as the Silver Mountain, it stretches from north-west to south-east for about 75 kilometres, with its highest point at 2,017 metres. Part of it lies within Kopaonik National Park, which includes a number of protected natural areas as well as the largest ski resort in Serbia.
The lower slopes of Kopaonik are covered with forests and pastures, the higher ones with coniferous spruce and fir forests, and the mountainsides with beech and oak. A true paradise for the eyes and lungs, an oasis of peace and tranquillity, made all the better by the cool, fresh air and some of the most beautiful – and, we are sure, unique – panoramas in the world.
Besides its rich and magical nature, the mountain is well developed and is one of the most visited winter destinations. There are many reasons to come to Kopaonik, and many people feel they haven't really been on a winter (ski) holiday unless they have spent at least a week on this mountain.
